Ten rules to keep dating fun

...if dating is to be fun, do not, ever – well not until date number three at the earliest – ask yourself that oh-so loaded question ‘Could I spend the rest of my life with this guy?’. They will certainly not be asking themselves that question until way later down the line, if ever. Men seem to let events overtake them, where we like our lives orderly, neat and predictable. Think of dating as you would shopping. Buying your entire and perfect wardrobe in one hit would simply take the pleasure out of all those other retail therapy excursions. So in that way, dating is simply emotional therapy – you’ll choose some brilliant pieces that work well in your life for a while and some supposed bargains that you get tired of `after a few weeks. And just occasionally, a fantastic buy that becomes a wardrobe/bedroom staple for years to come and you can’t bear to part with it!

A few more golden rules on the dating path to fun:
1. Live for the moment – not the past or the future.
2. Be relaxed, charming and keep it light.
3. Don’t analyse and reanalyse – go with the flow.
4. Don’t dress like a whore or a nun – keep it simple, sexy and sassy.
5. Don’t discuss your date in fine detail with your mates – just give a brief resume.
6. If you enjoyed yourself – tell him.
7. If you want to see him again – text or call him.
8. Never feel pressurised into sex on the first date but don’t deny yourself if that’s what you are sure that you want.
9. If you don’t want to see him again, tell him in a firm but diplomatic way. Don’t just avoid his calls. Men have feelings too.
10. Remember a date is for a few hours – not the rest of your life.
